Promoting young people as effectively as possible can spare some of them a long ‘career’ as a problem child/young person, including the unpleasant feelings that can arise both for them and their environment. In addition to promoting resilience in kindergarten, fostering emotional intelligence and mindfulness and preventing violence in schools, several articles focus on the socio-politically highly relevant topic of integrating children and young people with a migration background and young refugees from war zones, some of whom are traumatised. One of the advantages of music therapy here is that the language barriers between different cultures of origin and the therapists are less significant due to the predominantly non-verbal approach. New approaches to music education inspired by music therapy are reflected upon.
