Neue klebbare Gleise Die gepanzerten Bergungsfahrzeuge (ARV) wurden während des Zweiten Weltkriegs eingeführt. Sie wurden auf den Fahrgestellen bestehender gepanzerter Fahrzeuge gebaut, wobei die Hauptbewaffnung und der Turm entfernt und spezifische Ausrüstungen für die Bergung oder Reparatur von im Kampf beschädigten gepanzerten Kampffahrzeugen installiert wurden. Das amerikanische M-32 ARV basierte auf dem Chassis des bekannten Sherman A-4 Mitteltanks und wurde von der US-Armee im europäischen Operationsgebiet während des Zweiten Weltkriegs eingesetzt. Es zeichnete sich durch einen Aufbau aus, der es ermöglichte, beschädigte Panzer anzuheben und abzuschleppen. Darüber hinaus war das M-32 mit einer breiten Palette von Reparaturwerkzeugen und Ersatzteilen an Bord ausgestattet, was seine Rolle als wahre mobile gepanzerte Werkstatt unterstrich, die an der Frontlinie operieren konnte. Das M-32 war sogar in der Lage, komplexe Operationen wie den Austausch des Panzerantriebs durchzuführen. Nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs diente das M-32 in der US-Armee während des Koreakriegs und wurde von vielen Ländern bis in die 1990er Jahre eingesetzt.

They were built on the hulls of existing armored vehicles, removing the main armament and the turret and installing of specific equipment for the recovery or repair of armoured fighting vehicles damaged in battle. The American M-32 ARV was based on the chassis of the well-known Sherman A-4 medium tank and it was used by U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during the Second World War. It was characterized by the superstructure that permitted to lift and to trail the damaged tanks. Furthermore on M-32 a wide set of repairing tools and spare parts were loaded on board emphasizing its role of real "mobile armoured workshop" capable of operating on the front line. The M-32 was even able to perform complex operation as the replacing of the tank engine. The M-32, after the end of WWII, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and it was used by many Countries until the ‘90s.
