It emphasizes that the existing regulatory framework fails to satisfactorily account for the diversity in practical implementations of DAS networks. This work explores three instances of problematic application of conventional regulations upon unique DAS designs. First, the FCC should revisit its decision to impose a back up power rule on DAS antenna nodes at the federal level, since DAS antennas differ from traditional cell sites with respect to limited on-site processing and a smaller form factor. Second, this work questions the wisdom of state regulations that uniformly impose common carrier obligations upon DAS providers. Third, this work also posits that the current state of DAS-level municipal regulations is fractured and suggests a unified regulatory approach extended to all municipalities. This book analyzes the goals of Western sanctions imposed on Russia from 2014 to 2023. It explores the effects of sanctions on the Russian economy and its political course, as well as the repercussions of the sanctions to the senders and third parties, including spillover effects on neighboring countries and boomerang effects on the senders. While sanctions can be considered relatively effective in terms of economic damage, the Russian economy is far from being crushed. Importantly, sanctions proved to be ineffective as an instrument of foreign policy. The effects of the sanctions extend well beyond their anticipated impact on Russia itself, primarily due to the Western nations’ limited experience and knowledge in implementing sanctions against a major power with extensive global connections, such as Russia.

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been touted as change agents capable of including the 'weaker sections' as well as empowering them. This book analyzes the NGO-initiated interventions - as exemplified by Gram Vikas, an Indian non-profit organization - aiming for social inclusion; as well as critically examines these interventions' connection to empowerment in rural Orissa, India. Finally, a new technique called "Double Companding" by means of multiple companding has been proposed to reduce the PAPR. The simulation results show that it has better performance in terms of PAPR reduction than the conventional companding scheme.

Marketization strategies included the corporatization of university management through the de-politicization of the university chancellorship, competitive recruitment of the vice-chancellor, administrative reconfigurations, registration of unions and revitalization of student leadership. These developments have generated role conflicts, insider recruitment, and administrative misalignment, loss of faculty power in governance, collective bargaining failure and disruption of learning. Privatization was attained through the commercialization of learning, reflected in the admission of privately sponsored students and the privatization of students accommodation and boarding services. Consequently, conflict over revenue sharing, excessive workload, threat to academic quality and students engaging in risky behavior as a coping strategy were the outcomes.

This book explores musical and personal experiences of three Sudanese women performers and analyzes textual meanings of a particular type of women s songs in Sudan called aghani al-banaat. Because there are many discourses about womanhood , culture, and gender in Sudan, aghani al-banaat could stand as another narrative for negotiating gender/power relations and identity formation by the Sudanese women. Despite being labeled as loose and bad singing, aghani al-baanat provided a discursive space through which the Sudanese women voiced their alternative narratives of social and gender relations. It offered both a framework of negotiating the existing relations as well as a dream of improvement.The book concludes that Sudanese women, especially the pioneering performers of ex-slave descendent origin, created their own culture and popular literature in which they contextualize the past, the present, and the future of their varied realities and fantasies.

This book discusses the basics of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) System and the several radio impairments effects to its Bit Error Rate (BER) performance. Graphical representation of Scatter plot and BER plot for different modulation Schemes, coding schemes and code rates are shown here to analyze the performance of OFDM system. The effects of different Cyclic Prefixes, Pilot channels and Inter-leaver on OFDM system are also observed. Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) which is one of the major drawbacks of OFDM system is also discussed here along with the discussion of different PAPR reduction techniques. Finally, a new technique called "Double Companding" by means of multiple companding has been proposed to reduce the PAPR. The simulation results show that it has better performance in terms of PAPR reduction than the conventional companding scheme.

Face recognition technology analyzes the unique shape, pattern and positioning of the facial features. Face recognition is very complex technology and is largely software based. This Biometric Methodology establishes the analysis framework with tailored algorithms for each type of biometric device. Face recognition starts with a picture, attempting to find a person in the image. This can be accomplished using several methods including movement, skin tones, or blurred human shapes. The face recognition system locates the head and finally the eyes of the individual. Face recognition technologies have been associated generally with very costly top secure applications. Today the core technologies have evolved and the cost of equipments is going down dramatically due to the integration and the increasing processing power. Certain applications of face recognition technology are now cost effective, reliable and highly accurate. The natural use of face recognition technology is the replacement of PIN, physical tokens or both needed in automatic authorization or identification schemes. Additional uses are automation of human identification or role authentication.

To Harun Farocki writing was inextricably linked with his cinematic works; his work on the concept of the image always involved a translation from the image to the text and vice versa. The autobiography from his estate, which has now been published, constitutes a great exception in his oeuvre: Farocki was not able to complete it; he died in July 2014. We here have a work, which has remained unfinished in itself—but precisely this makes this autobiography so fascinating. It portrays his tragic childhood, Farocki’s escape to West Berlin, the fortune of having discovered film, although he wanted to become a writer, his turning to outsiderism, his radicalism of thought, his vision, his power of observation, the growing ability to analyze social structures, the politicization of life. In his autobiography, Farocki adopts the attitude of the filmmaker, he is not only a critical reader of his own life, but also of the current events, which form the backdrop of the entire narrative.
