Other features of this dictionary are: the number of entries(over 106,000), which is more than double that of any other Latvian-English dictionary; the use of American rather than British English; an extensive coverage of technical terms from all fields of science and technology; the comprehensive inclusion of spelling variants; and the inclusion of colloquialisms, common speech words, vulgar terms, slang, barbarisms, selected regionalisms and terms found in folkloric language. The entries of this dictionary were collected from various extant monolingual and bilingual Latvian dictionaries, general and specialized: spelling dictionaries, technical dictionaries, etymological dictionaries, general encyclopedias, periodical literature, and many Latvian speakers. Of the latter, I want to single out the contribution of the late sea captain, Inats Lejnieks. In his time, the captain had commanded full-rigged sailing ships with Latvian crews, and he supplied the Latvian equivalents of the names of sails and principal ropes, spars, and part of the hull. I was fortunate to have captain Lejnieks share his expertise with me as this material was not available anywhere else.

Climate research is grounded in the Gestalt psychology of Kurt Lewin. From Gestalt psychology comes the critical notion of the whole - the gestalt - meaning that individual elements of perception are formed into wholes that represent more than the simple sum of the specifics of the individual elements. Organisational climate is a gestalt that is based on perceived patterns in the specific experiences and behaviours of people in organisations. That is, when experiences and behaviours are perceived to be patterned in particular ways, the gestalt that the pattern connotes in the abstract constitutes the climate of the situation. In other words, the sense people make of the patterns of experiences and behaviours they have, or the other parties to the situation have, constitutes the climate of the situation.

Urdu is a morphologically rich language. It has a variety of morphological phenomena in various grammatical categories, e.g. nouns, verbs, adjectives. Urdu has a lot of Noun Morphology, both Derivational and Inflectional. Urdu is rich in generating nouns from existing noun and non-noun words, and using inflections even for gender of un- animated items, which is not possible in English. Honor is also an interesting phenomenon in Urdu Morphology. There are more than 50 Morphological forms (and around 20 Surface forms) associated with a Verb. Like Nouns, Adjectives are divided into two groups: those which have suffixes that change to show gender and number (marked adjectives), and those which do not (unmarked adjectives). There are other grammatical categories in Urdu that have regular Morphological patterns, e.g. Numbers, Particles, and Clitics.
