This breathtaking collectible is only available as part of a LIMITED FIRST PRINT RUN in the US and Canada only, a must-have for any book lover. You don't really know a guy until you've vacationed with him... When Drew Wilson's ex-boyfriend Joel "Six" Bailey asks her to go on his family trip to Hawaii with him just as her life is falling apart, she decides it's the perfect time to give him another chance. The hitch? The Bailey family includes Six's rude older brother, Joshua-a hot-nerd doctor who has hated Drew since the moment they met and once suggested she'd steal the family silver. Drew is determined to win the Baileys over and give this thing with Six a fair shot...but Joshua is making that difficult. Not simply because he is in her way at every turn, but because-as one tropical adventure leads to the next-she's beginning to wonder if obnoxious, odious Joshua might be the brother she actually belongs with.

Granta Publications Do Not Say We Have Nothing A1070926182
'A moving and extraordinary evocation of the 20th-century tragedy of China... compelling' Guardian SHORTLISTED FOR THE WOMEN'S PRIZE FOR FICTION AND THE MAN BOOKER PRIZE In Canada in 1991, ten-year-old Marie and her mother invite a guest into their home. Ai- Ming has fled China in the aftermath of the Tiananmen Square protests. As her relationship with Marie deepens, Ai-Ming tells the story of her family in revolutionary China, from the crowded teahouses in the first days of Chairman Mao's ascent to the Beijing demonstrations of 1989. And she speaks of three musicians - the shy and brilliant composer Sparrow, the violin prodigy Zhuli, and the enigmatic pianist Kai - who struggled during China's relentless Cultural Revolution to remain loyal to one another and to the music they have devoted their lives to. Their fates reverberate through the years, with deep and lasting consequences for Ai-Ming - and for Marie. Do Not Say We Have Nothing magnificently brings to life one of the most significant political regimes of the 20th century and its traumatic legacy. 'A magnificent epic of Chinese history, richly detailed and beautifully written' Kate Saunders, The Times

Babelcube Inc Seaside Hotel, Gaspesia A1058883425
For Marie-Ève Gaspardin, the Seaside Hotel is of paramount importance. The thirty-year-old has always been fully involved in the company founded by her father. It must be said that she hopes to lead the establishment one day, despite the clear preference of her patriarch for the beloved son, Joshua. Fortunately, Marie-Ève is a fighter ready to take up any challenge to satisfy the great Rodolphe G. Gaspardin and keep the hotel afloat despite some financial problems. However, her commitment is severely tested the day she meets her attractive new neighbor, Guillermo Voily. Their unusual meeting leads to a whole series of accidents, and Marie-Ève finds herself playing nurse at the same time when family revelations are multiplying, creating a stir at the hotel. Will the young woman manage to do everything simultaneously? Agnes Ruiz is the author of several best-sellers. She had huge success with her first novel "Ma vie assassinée". She writes for both adults and children. Her short stories featuring the investigations of detective Rachel Toury have also been very successful in Europe as well as North America. Several translations are available. She is originally from Normandy (France) and lived in Canada for almost 20 years.

Headline 101 Whiskies To Try Before You Die 6th Edition A1076885216
Sixth edition, fully revised and updated. 'something of an institution . . . We highly recommend you get a copy for its amusing tone, on-the-nose criticism and Buxton's unerring nose for value' Master of Malt 'excellent' The Sunday Times 'a must-buy for whisky enthusiasts who prefer high-level expertise executed with humour and irreverence rather than lofty academic pretensions . . . accessible, funny and fact-packed' Robb Report 101 Whiskies to Try Before You Die is a whisky guide with a difference. It is not an awards list. It is not a list of the 101 'best' whiskies in the world in the opinion of a whisky expert. It is simply a guide to the 101 whiskies that enthusiasts must seek out and try in order to complete their whisky education. Avoiding the deliberately obscure, the ridiculously limited and the absurdly expensive, whisky connoisseur Ian Buxton recommends an eclectic selection of old favourites, stellar newcomers and mystifyingly unknown drams that simply have to be drunk. The book decodes the marketing hype and gets straight to the point; whether from Canada, India, America, Sweden, Ireland, Japan or the hills, glens and islands of Scotland, here are the 101 whiskies that you really want. Try them before you die - Slainte!

'There's never been a more honest or raw memoir . . . and it may just save lives' Daily Mail 'Funny, fascinating, compelling . . . also a wonderful read for fans of Friends' The Times 'HI, MY NAME IS MATTHEW, although you may know me by my full name. My friends call me Matty.' So begins the riveting story of acclaimed actor Matthew Perry, taking us along on his journey from childhood ambition to fame to addiction and recovery in the aftermath of a life-threatening health scare. Before the frequent hospital visits and stints in rehab, there was five-year-old Matthew, who travelled from Montreal to Los Angeles, shuffling between his separated parents; fourteen-year-old Matthew, who was a nationally ranked tennis star in Canada; twenty-four-year-old Matthew, who nabbed a coveted role as a lead cast member on the talked-about pilot then called Friends Like Us . . . and so much more. In an extraordinary story that only he could tell - and in the heartfelt, hilarious, and warmly familiar way only he could tell it - Matthew Perry lays bare the fractured family that raised him (and also left him to his own devices), the desire for recognition that drove him to fame, and the void inside him that could not be filled even by his greatest dreams coming true. But he also details the peace he's found in sobriety and how he feels about the ubiquity of Friends, sharing stories about his castmates and other stars he met along the way. Frank, self-aware, and with his trademark humour, Perry vividly depicts his lifelong battle with addiction and what fuelled it despite seemingly having it all. 'An unflinching and often harrowing must-read for 90s pop culture fans' Guardian 'Written with Chandler's trademark sarcasm and self-deprecation' Telegraph 'A hopeful read . . . I started to think of [it] not as a celebrity memoir about addiction, but as an addiction memoir written by a man who understands his own history through the prism of showbiz' Independent

Picador USA Swimming Studies A1068584370
Picador USA Swimming Studies A1068584370
Winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for Autobiography Named a Best Book of the Year by The Observer Back in print, a "fusion of cool, clear-eyed prose and watercolors, photographs and painted portraits" ( Time Out New York ) by celebrated author and artist Leanne Shapton, on a sport that has shaped her life. Intimate with chlorinated space; weightless yet limited; closed off to taste, sound, and most sight; acutely aware of the clock: this is a swimmer's state. When ten-year-old Leanne Shapton joins an Ontario township swim team with her brother, she finds an affinity for its rhythms-and spends years training, making it to the Olympic trials twice. Swimming Studies reflects on her time immersed in a world of rigor and determination, routine and competition, pairing together contemplative essays and paintings. Vivid details of an aquatic life appear: adolescence in suburban Canada, dawn risings for morning practice, bus rides with teammates, a growing collection of swimsuits, dips in lakes and oceans. When she trades athletic pursuits for artistic ones, the metrics of moving through water endure. In these elegant and potent meditations, Shapton renders swimming as a mode of experiencing time, movement, and perspective, capable of shaping our lives in every environment.

Titan Books Ltd The Ignoble Invasion of Prince Proculo A1079086450
A laugh-out-loud, genre-bending gay monster romantasy, in which a body-snatching alien is unwillingly transformed into a weedy prince and Isekai'd into a fantasy kingdom. But he isn't going to let that stand between him and total world domination. Or true love... From the USA Today bestselling author of Apparently, Sir Cameron Needs to Die and perfect for fans of Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis and Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell. Protactinium-231 is a body-snatching alien whose crew have burned through the galaxy conquering planet after planet--or at least, they've been trying. They haven't been very successful. While attempting to conquer Canada (of all places), Protactinium gets on the wrong side of a god, who strips him of his alien body, transforms him into the weedy, useless Prince Proculo, and sends him to rule over a fantasy kingdom. With no tentacles, no physical prowess, and no allies, Proculo is forced to put aside his plans for world domination and join the battle between humans and half-human monsters that is ravaging his new home. After capturing the half-human, half-spider Tantalus, Protactinium falls desperately in love with his bristling muscles and sharp fangs. And Tantalus is an eager ally in Protactinium's mission to conquer the world. Together, they will be an unstoppable force--against new enemies and old friends alike.

Ibooks The Secret A1035429837
Ibooks The Secret A1035429837
The tale begins over three-hundred years ago, when the Fair People—the goblins, fairies, dragons, and other fabled and fantastic creatures of a dozen lands—fled the Old World for the New, seeking haven from the ways of Man. With them came their precious jewels: diamonds, rubies, emeralds, pearls... But then the Fair People vanished, taking with them their twelve fabulous treasures. And they remained hidden until now... Across North America, these twelve treasures, over ten-thousand dollars in precious jewels in 1982 dollars, are buried. The key to finding each can be found within the twelve full-color paintings and verses of THE SECRET. Are you smart enough? THE SECRET: A TREASURE HUNT was published in 1982. The year before publication, the author and publisher Byron Preiss had traveled to 12 locations in the continental U.S. (and possibly Canada) to secretly bury a dozen ceramic casques. Each casque contained a small key that could be redeemed for one of 12 jewels Preiss kept in a safe deposit box in New York. The key to finding the casques was to match one of 12 paintings to one of 12 poetic verses, solve the resulting riddle, and start digging. Since 1982, only three of the 12 casques have been recovered. The first was located in Grant Park, Chicago, in 1984 by a group of students. The second was unearthed in 2004 in Cleveland by two members of the Quest4Treasure forum, and the third was found in Boston in 2019 by a father and his two children. Preiss was killed in an auto accident in the summer of 2005, but the hunt for his casques continues.

Loudly Anne of Green Gables A1064684741
Loudly Anne of Green Gables A1064684741
Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery (published as L. M. Montgomery). Written for all ages, it has been considered a classic children's novel since the mid-20th century. Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl, who is sent by mistake to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had originally intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in the fictional town of Avonlea in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The novel recounts how Anne makes her way through life with the Cuthberts, in school, and within the town. HarperCollins The Grand Tour A1029051558
HarperCollins The Grand Tour A1029051558
In 1922 Agatha Christie set sail on a ten-month voyage around the world. Her husband, Archibald Christie, had been invited to join a trade mission to promote the British Empire Exhibition, and Christie was determined to go with him. It was a life-changing decision for the young novelist, a true voyage of discovery that would inspire her future writing for years to come. Placing her two-year-old daughter in the care of her sister, Christie set sail at the end of January and did not return home until December. Throughout her journey, she kept up a detailed weekly correspondence with her mother, describing the exotic places and the remarkable people she encountered as the mission traveled through South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and Canada. Reproduced here for the first time, the letters are full of tales of seasickness and sunburn, motor trips and surfboarding, glamor and misery. The Grand Tour also brings to life the places and people Christie encountered through the photos she took on her portable camera, as well as some of the original postcards, newspaper cuttings, and memorabilia she collected on her trip. Edited and introduced by Agatha Christie's grandson, Mathew Prichard, and accompanied by reminiscences from her own autobiography, this unique travelogue reveals a new adventurous side to Agatha Christie, one that would ultimately influence the stories that made her a household name.

General Press The Master Key System A1057937817
The Master Key System teach you that everything around us was first developed as a thought. Thought, therefore, is the powerful catalyst towards making any idea a reality. What would be possible if you could unlock your entire mental potential? The Master Key System is one of the classic works in the Science of Thought tradition. This book will not only leave you feeling good, but also thinking good. Charles F. Haanel discusses everything from how to feel healthy to how to become wealthy. Using precise logic and a consistent, common-sense frame-work, he shows us how to achieve that what we most desire. About the Author: Charles Francis Haanel (May 22, 1866 - November 27, 1949) was a noted American New Thought author, philosopher and a businessman. He is best known for his contributions to the New Thought Movement through his book The Master Key System. The Haanel family was of Swedish extraction, but had lived in Silesia, Prussia, before emigrating to Canada and thence to the United States. Haanel's book The Master Key System was published in 1912, when he was 46 years old. It is written in the form of a course in New Thought, mental development, financial success, and personal health. The book was heavily promoted in the pages of Elizabeth Towne's New Thought magazine The Nautilus. By 1933 it had allegedly sold over 200,000 copies worldwide. Haanel practiced the financial principles he preached, and was a self made success who owned several major companies. According to Stevens, writing in 1909 - he was president of the Continental Commercial Company, president of the Sacramento Valley Improvement Company, and president of the Mexico Gold & Silver Mining Company.

Order now and receive the stunning DELUXE FIRST PRINT RUN while supplies last -featuring gorgeous sprayed edges with stenciled artwork and special cover design features. This breathtaking collectible is only available as part of a LIMITED FIRST PRINT RUN in the US and Canada only, a must-have for any book lover. Summer nights can be full of surprises. As a single, unemployed, and unapologetic twenty-five year old mess, I came to the Hamptons this summer for one reason-to focus on myself and work out my quarter-life crisis. I didn't come here planning to sneak into a private party and meet a handsome stranger. I definitely didn't come here expecting for that stranger to be Preston Rhodes-billionaire and superstar quarterback for the Manhattan Mambas. And that's not even the crazy part. He asked me to be his pretend girlfriend for a week while his family is in town. He needed a date for his sister's wedding, and I'd never turn down the opportunity to be spoiled by a rich man. The only thing is, Preston's not very good at pretending. Now instead of discovering myself, I'm spending the week discovering what life would be like with him. Instead of focusing on me, I'm focusing on how he looks at me, how he touches me, how he wants me. But now that neither one of us is faking it, I only hope that we can hold on to what we have through the bright lights and summer nights.

Inner Traditions/Bear & Company Tai Chi for Kids A1006417533
Inner Traditions/Bear & Company Tai Chi for Kids A1006417533
TAI CHI / AGES 4-8 Tai Chi is fun for children because they can imagine they are playing with birds, tigers, monkeys, and dragons. They can even pretend they are flying. However, children also reap the many health, learning, and social benefits of Tai Chi--focused attention, enhanced creativity, and improved balance, circulation, and overall health--through the eight simple exercises introduced in Tai Chi for Kids. Inspired by his own son's excitement with Tai Chi at the age of only three, master teacher Stuart Olson appeals to the innate imagination and playfulness of children to teach them the eight basic forms of a Tai Chi practice. Children will love imitating the animals shown in the colorful and playful illustrations, and the photographs of Olson's 7-year-old son, Lee Jin, provide the perfect guide to each of the postures. Olson uses the language of a storyteller, wonderful animal metaphors that invite children to pretend, and easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions so that every child can enjoy such exercises as "Chasing the Monkeys Away," and "White Crane Cools Its Wings." The book is designed for children and parents to use together or for independent learning by older children. The book also includes an informative teaching tale of how Tai Chi first began. Tai Chi for Kids introduces children to a lifetime of physical fitness and good health. STUART ALVE OLSON has studied Tai Chi, meditation, and Chinese language for more than twenty-five years. Considered one of the leading authorities on Tai Chi, Stuart has published a number of books on the subject and has taught classes and workshops throughout the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. He presently lives in northern California. GREGORY CRAWFORD is a self-taught artist who has made his living as an illustrator and designer for more than thirty-five years. He has worked in advertising, magazine and book illustration, film, and television. He is also active in community theater and is a passionate amateur stonemason. Gregory lives in Vermont with his wife, Jacki, and their German shepherd, Athena.

Penguin Books Ltd The Bilingual Brain A1058323741
'Fascinating. . . This engaging book explores just how multiple languages are acquired and sorted out by the brain. . . Costa's work derives from a great fund of knowledge, considerable curiosity and solidly scientific spirit' Philip Hensher Spectator The definitive study of bilingualism and the human brain from a leading neuropsychologist Over half of the world's population is bilingual and yet few of us understand how this extraordinary, complex ability really works. How do two languages co-exist in the same brain? What are the advantages and challenges of being bilingual? How do we learn - and forget - a language? In the first study of its kind, leading expert Albert Costa shares twenty years of experience to explore the science of language. Looking at studies and examples from Canada to France to South Korea, The Bilingual Brain investigates the significant impact of bilingualism on daily life from infancy to old age. It reveals, among other things, how babies differentiate between two languages just hours after birth, how accent affects the way in which we perceive others and even why bilinguals are better at conflict resolution. Drawing on cutting-edge neuro-linguistic research from his own laboratory in Barcelona as well from centres across the world, and his own bilingual family, Costa offers an absorbing examination of the intricacies and impact of an extraordinary skill. Highly engaging and hugely informative,The Bilingual Brain leaves us all with a sense of wonder at how language works. Translated by John W. Schwieter
