E-Kitap Projesi & Cheapest Books Principia: "Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica" A1057869493
Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Latin for Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), often referred to as simply the Principia, is a work in three books by Isaac Newton, in Latin, first published 5 July 1687. After annotating and correcting his personal copy of the first edition, Newton published two further editions, in 1713 and 1726. The Principia states Newton's laws of motion, forming the foundation of classical mechanics; Newton's law of universal gravitation; and a derivation of Kepler's laws of planetary motion (which Kepler first obtained empirically). The Principia is considered one of the most important works in the history of science. The French mathematical physicist Alexis Clairaut assessed it in 1747: "The famous book of Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy marked the epoch of a great revolution in physics. The method followed by its illustrious author Sir Newton ... spread the light of mathematics on a science which up to then had remained in the darkness of conjectures and hypotheses. A more recent assessment has been that while acceptance of Newton's theories was not immediate, by the end of the century after publication in 1687, "no one could deny that" (out of the Principia) "a science had emerged that, at least in certain respects, so far exceeded anything that had ever gone before that it stood alone as the ultimate exemplar of science generally". In formulating his physical theories, Newton developed and used mathematical methods now included in the field of Calculus. But the language of calculus as we know it was largely absent from the Principia; Newton gave many of his proofs in a geometric form of infinitesimal calculus, based on limits of ratios of vanishing small geometric quantities. In a revised conclusion to the Principia (see General Scholium), Newton used his expression that became famous. The Principia deals primarily with massive bodies in motion, initially under a variety of conditions and hypothetical laws of force in both non-resisting and resisting media, thus offering criteria to decide, by observations, which laws of force are operating in phenomena that may be observed. It attempts to cover hypothetical or possible motions both of celestial bodies and of terrestrial projectiles. It explores difficult problems of motions perturbed by multiple attractive forces. Its third and final book deals with the interpretation of observations about the movements of planets and their satellites. It shows: . How astronomical observations prove the inverse square law of gravitation (to an accuracy that was high by the standards of Newton's time); . Offers estimates of relative masses for the known giant planets and for the Earth and the Sun; . Defines the very slow motion of the Sun relative to the solar-system barycenter; . Shows how the theory of gravity can account for irregularities in the motion of the Moon; . Identifies the oblateness of the figure of the Earth; . Accounts approximately for marine tides including phenomena of spring and neap tides by the perturbing (and varying) gravitational attractions of the Sun and Moon on the Earth's waters; . Explains the precession of the equinoxes as an effect of the gravitational attraction of the Moon on the Earth's equatorial bulge; and . Gives theoretical basis for numerous phenomena about comets and their elongated, near-parabolic orbits.

Now a major movie. HarperCollins is proud to present our range of timeless literary classics All my days are consumed in longing - to travel home and see the day of my arrival dawn. If a god must shatter me upon the wine-dark sea, so be it. One of the most enduring tales ever told, The Odyssey is the original homecoming story. After the fall of Troy, victorious war-hero Odysseus sets off on his long return to Ithaca - an adventure which takes him through strange and foreign lands and brings a challenge at every turn from six-headed sea monsters and man-eating giants, seductive sorceresses and vengeful gods. Passed down through the generations for three thousand years, Homer's The Odyssey, has been celebrated as an undisputed great of Western literature. Here in a translation by T. E. HarperCollins US Alibaba A1040095584
In just a decade and half Jack Ma, a man who rose from humble beginnings and started his career as an English teacher, founded and built Alibaba into the second largest Internet company in the world. The company's $25 billion IPO in 2014 was the world's largest, valuing the company more than Facebook or Coca Cola. Alibaba today runs the e-commerce services that hundreds of millions of Chinese consumers depend on every day, providing employment and income for tens of millions more. A Rockefeller of his age, Jack has become an icon for the country's booming private sector, and as the face of the new, consumerist China is courted by heads of state and CEOs from around the world. Granted unprecedented access to a wealth of new material including exclusive interviews, Clark draws on his own first-hand experience of key figures integral to Alibaba's rise to create an authoritative, compelling narrative account of how Alibaba and its charismatic creator have transformed the way that Chinese exercise their new found economic freedom, inspiring entrepreneurs around the world and infuriating others, turning the tables on the Silicon Valley giants who have tried to stand in his way. Duncan explores vital questions about the company's past, present, and future: How, from such unremarkable origins, did Jack Ma build Alibaba? What explains his relentless drive and his ability to outsmart his competitors? With over 80% of China's e-commerce market, how long can the company hope to maintain its dominance? As the company sets its sights on the country's financial and media markets, are there limits to Alibaba's ambitions, or will the Chinese government act to curtail them? And as it set up shop from LA and San Francisco to Seattle, how will Alibaba grow its presence and investments in the US and other international markets? Clark tells Alibaba's tale within the wider story of China's economic explosion-the rise of the private sector and the expansion of Internet usage-that haver powered the country's rise to become the world's second largest economy and largest Internet population, twice the size of the United States. He also explores the political and social context for these momentous changes. An expert insider with unrivaled connections, Clark has a deep understanding of Chinese business mindset. He illuminates an unlikely corporate titan as never before, and examines the key role his company has played in transforming China while increasing its power and presence worldwide.

Penguin Random House Espagnol El Hombre / The Man A1075062944
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Western novel about the frontier wars between the United States and Mexico, when territories were lost and Apache, Mexicans, and Americans clashed. This polyphonic novel tells the story of Henry Lloyd, a mysterious character that, slowly but surely, builds an empire in the mid eighteen hundreds. Bold, sharp, and smart, the only person he fears is his nemesis, Jack Barley, the only one who could bring down his empire. Jack Barley is an eleven-year-old kid who kills a boy in self-defense, and then kills his family, so has to skip town before the authorities capture him and put his head in a noose. Henry Lloyd’s and Jack Barley’s stories run parallel until their inevitable faceoff. The Man narrates the close-ups of other characters that accompany Henry. James, a boy kidnapped from his village in Africa to be taken as a slave to the United States, where, over time, will become one of Lloyd’s most-trusted men. Jeremiah, a giant black man who refuses to speak the tongue of the enslavers, so white men think him mute and dumb. Virginia, heiress to a vast plantation in Alabama, who marries Lloyd, but for painful reasons must be parted from him. Rodrigo, a young Mexican who lives in a Texas ranch and sees how the frontier dividing Mexico from the States threatens to blur. The novel follows the course of Henry Lloyd’s immense fortune, to his current descendants, who will uncover, piece by piece, the dark past of their ancestors. The novel explores the origins of American capitalism; the shaping of the United States throughout the nineteenth century; the terrible battles between the Apache, Mexicans, and Texans; the deep wound of slavery, and the political vicissitudes derived from the tumultuous historical development of the past 180 years, all revolving around the colossal figure of Henry Lloyd.
